Kokborok is also known as Tiprakok or Tripurikok. There are also about 320,000 speakers of Kokborok in the Chittagong and Sylhet divisions of Bangladesh along the border with India. It is spoken by about 1 million people, mainly in the state of Tripura in the north east of India, and also in Assam. Kokborok is a member of the Brahmaputran branch of the Sino-Tibetan language family.
